Andrew Keaveney lead our December walk at Humber Bay Park. It was sunny and calm - surprisingly comfortable for a December walk! Although there weren’t large numbers of birds, the diversity of species was impressive. Along with many of the typical winter residents and visitors, we found a lingering Great Blue Heron, a Hermit Thrush and two Orange-crowned Warblers. This was the first walk where we had the newly revised and updated CCFEW Bird Checklist. The new checklist has 206 species that have been seen on CCFEW walks. Thanks to Andrew’s keen hearing, we managed to add number 207 to the list: a fly-over Bohemian Waxwing!
