Arsenal Lands

The Arsenal Lands is a 15.7 hectare property which forms the southeastern corner of the City of Mississauga.  In 1992, Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) purchased the property with the intent of expanding Marie Curtis Park to form a 41 hectare waterfront park.

Arsenal Lands Project Area

Site remediation of this former industrial site was conducted from 1998 to 2002. The TRCA has worked with the Region of Peel, the City of Mississauga, and the City of Toronto to develop a plan that includes Marie Curtis Park, the Arsenal Lands, and some adjoining land owned by the Region of Peel.

The result is the park plan illustrated below. The master plan was submitted for approval early in 2007. Now all we need is for both cities to agree on funding.
